If it wasn’t for that trial, you wouldn’t have moved..

Comfort can keep us complacent, it can keep us bound.
Your relationship with God could grow stale if you sought only to keep yourself 'comfortable'.
You may not have the opportunity to bear more fruit, if you stayed where you were - at ease, yet not growing, and perhaps not moving toward the place God wanted you.
The mindset we, as believers, should desire is this - “not my will, but Your will be done, Lord.”
His power is made perfect in our weaknesses.
If you are experiencing desperation in your life, this is when you can learn to depend on Him, and rely solely on the Lord, not on yourself.
We need trials to refine us and make us realise that we cannot do things in our own strength, but only through His.
God’s ways are so much better.

You might think that where you were was the best place you could be, but God’s ways are higher. Not that there isn't a place for us to experience pleasant things in this world, but He may want to shake things up in your life, to bring you to where He wants you.
These afflictions can serve to bring you closer to Jesus, becoming even more dependant upon Him, in order that He may be further glorified through your endeavours, bearing more fruit for His Kingdom.
Trust Him and continue to submit to Him, He is always faithful.
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.” Isaiah 55:8
“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28
Trials also prevent us from becoming prideful (thinking we are better than other people). The fire of trials refine us and burn off anything in our lives that isn't Christ-like. We need to go through difficult periods to remain humble. We should pray for the Lord to always keep us reliant on Him, no matter what that entails.
He is always in control, even if everything feels out of control.
He will always be our anchor in the storm.

Don’t fear the trials, but fear drifting and wandering away from your close relationship with Christ, and your effectiveness for His Kingdom being hindered because of it.
“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.” Psalm 23:4
“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” John 14:27
“The name of the LORD is a strong tower: The righteous runneth into it, and is safe.” Proverbs 18:10
